Elementary School Program
- CIVA elementary program supports the intellectual, social, and emotional development of each child. The curriculum encompasses the core academic subjects and emphasizes a project-based, hands-on approach in which children learn to think critically and creatively.
- Children are active learners; they read, write stories, complete research projects, compute and solve problems, conduct science experiments, and create performances and artwork. Life Skills that children will use well into adulthood are incorporated into every facet of the curriculum.
- A Systems Thinking approach often underpins the organization of units of study. Systems Thinking uses the intricate webs of natural and man-made systems to help children understand their roles, responsibilities, and power within our world.
- Our campus features an outdoor classroom, providing students with an ideal setting for creative thought, conversation, and study. Experiences outside of school, such as field trips and community involvement, enrich the curriculum and give children the opportunity to learn in real-world settings.
